Please mark as patrolled
[edit]Hi Tvpuppy,
Thank you for helping fight vandalism on Commons. Just a reminder, don't forget to mark the bad edit you undid as patrolled (see also COM:EDITPATROL). Doing so will remove the edit from the unpatrolled edits list and reduce our backlog, and thus prevents double work. See also Commons:Counter Vandalism Unit. Thanks again, Shaan SenguptaTalk 04:17, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
The recent Khamenei related vandalism you reverted, particularly the nonsense DRs. Plz mark the revisions as patrolled when undoing them. It removes it from the unpatrolled edits list. Also, when you remove (any or even) these vandal DR notices from file pages, make sure to close the DRs first. Shaan SenguptaTalk 04:19, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Shaan Sengupta. Thank you for letting me know, I will keep that in mind for the future. I see you have already marked them as patrolled and closed the DRs, so thank you for that. Thanks again for the reminder and your effort in counter vandalism work. Tvpuppy (talk) 04:26, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
Translation request
[edit]Hi, Thank you for helping in translating Wiki Loves folklore in your language. Can you please help in translating the central notice banner contents using the below link.
✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 07:18, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- Apologies for the late reply, not sure how but somehow I have missed this message. Seems like currently the central notice banner has already been well translated in my language (Chinese). Anyways, feel free to let me know if there any help needed for translation in the future. Thanks. Tvpuppy (talk) 00:48, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
Lingua Libre's RenameOrReplace.js
[edit]Hello Tvpuppy, hello @Ardzun, You or some active member of your community on Lingua Libre may someday be interested by this tool and its new tutorial : Help:Lingua Libre/Corrections#Rename_Or_Replace_(RoR). It helps to mass rename Lingua Libre's filenames or to mass replace their texts. It applies in a list or category of files, up to the user. Yug (talk) 22:57, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- The tutorial page looks really useful. Thanks for letting me know about this. Tvpuppy (talk) 02:02, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
Add missing brackets
[edit]Hi. Thank you for adding missing brackets (actually curly braces) like in Special:Diff/1170114928. Would it be possible for you to also fix the underlying problem of right curly braces in converted speedy templates like in Special:Diff/1170288161? — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 07:36, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Jeff G., thanks for letting me know that they are called curly braces (I thought they are also called brackets). I will fix the ones in converted speedy templates, I didn't realise these have problems as well, but before I did wondered where the missing braces have gone. Thanks. Tvpuppy (talk) 11:49, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Good job! I just went back to check the affected files, and it seems you have already fixed all of them. Let me know if I have missed any. I will keep this problem in mind for the future, as to remember to fix both the DR page and the file itself. Thanks. Tvpuppy (talk) 12:00, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
FYI
[edit]Assume bad faith
- Alexis Jazz ping plz 00:14, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know that the user is likely an LTA sock, I assumed (in good faith) that the user may be a beginner user, since I wasn't aware of their previous pattern/behavior. Thanks again for the report at COM:AN/V. Tvpuppy (talk) 00:20, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
my apologies

Republic of China laws
[edit]The conversation in the Village Pump has been archived: What are your thoughts about the proposal? We need some kind of consensus or improved feedback in order to move forward.--TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 17:22, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @TaronjaSatsuma, I don't really understand the current table you created, so I did my own calculations, which you can see in the summary below. I am not completely sure that the calculations are correct, but you can see my analysis of the copyright laws in the collapsed section below.

- The main two reasons for registered work to be in PD in Taiwan on 2002-01-01 are:
- Registered works that have entered PD under the copyright terms of 1985 text before 1992-06-10
- Registered works that entered PD before 1985-07-10
- and these works have to be published before 2002-01-01 (URAA date) to be PD in the US.
- In summary, registered works that are PD in Taiwan and the US on 2002-01-01:
- Registered individual works: author's death before 1962-06-10 and published before 2002-01-01
- Registered joint works: last author's death before 1962-06-10 and published before 2002-01-01
- Registered works by legal entities: works published before 1955-07-10, or works created before 1962-06-10 and published before 2002-01-01
- Registered photos and films: works published before 1975-07-10, or works created before 1962-06-10 and published before 2002-01-01
- Registered translations: works published before 1965-07-10, or works created before 1962-06-10 and published before 2002-01-01
- The terms for registered photos here mostly matches with the terms in {{PD-ROC-oldphoto}}, so I am somewhat confident in my calculations. Also, apologies for the minimal formatting, I don't have much time to display this information in a clearer format. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks. Tvpuppy (talk) 01:07, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- So, what about using your terms in the proposed new template? I can format everything to make it easy to understand TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 22:19, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- @TaronjaSatsuma Sure, feel free to use it. It will be nice if you can format it better. Thanks. Tvpuppy (talk) 23:09, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

Tagging of Thcsphuninh2025
[edit]Hi Tvpuppy, I am currently processing a sockpuppet investigation case on the English Wikipedia concerning the account Thcsphuninh2025, which you tagged as a sockpuppet of ChanComThemPho on 28 September 2025 with the edit summary "Suspected sock of another user, but that user was tagged as a sock too".
The evidence related to these two accounts on the English Wikipedia is difficult to trace, as most of the associated sockpuppets are generically blocked for long-term abuse without identifying a sockpuppeteer. Also, the long-term abuse page and sockpuppet category for ChanComThemPho on the Vietnamese Wikipedia do not appear to identify Thcsphuninh2025 as a sockpuppet of ChanComThemPho.
Is there any additional evidence available (on Commons or any other Wikimedia project) that would help us establish a link between Thcsphuninh2025 and ChanComThemPho in the English Wikipedia investigation? Thank you for your help. — Newslinger talk 18:13, 24 March 2026 (UTC); added missing word 01:23, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Newslinger, thanks for your message.
- Apologies for not being clear in the edit summary, but I remember I added the tag to User:Thcsphuninh2025 because I suspected this user is a sock of User:Huynhthiminhngoc99. These two users both vandalized similar files (e.g. logos of new channels, and images of buildings) in a similar behavior (e.g. removing categories).
- Since Huynhthiminhngoc99 was already tagged as a sockpuppet of ChanComThemPho, I changed the sockmaster for Thcsphuninh2025 to ChanComThemPho instead.
- I think it is likely that Thcsphuninh2025 is related to Huynhthiminhngoc99. However, I am not sure about how they are related to ChanComThemPho. So, apologies for not being able to provide any concrete help for your case.
- Also, please note that at the same time, there is another LTA (en:WP:LTA/Wikinger) that was impersonating ChanComThemPho. I only learnt about this other LTA later so I might have tagged some of the sockpuppets incorrectly to ChanComThemPho.
- Thanks. Tvpuppy (talk) 20:35, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- I appreciate that you took the time to explain everything here. Based on this information, I am going to tag Huynhthiminhngoc99 as a sockpuppet of Thcsphuninh2025 on the English Wikipedia, and then follow up with the editor who tagged the Huynhthiminhngoc99 account. Thanks again, Tvpuppy. — Newslinger talk 01:23, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
